And ... we're done.

Well, almost done - New Year's eve is rapidly approaching and then comes the fun time of having to remember to write 2013 on everything.  A time for setting New Year resolutions, only to break them within days, hours sometimes.  A time to say I'll lose weight, exercise more, eat better ... yada, yada, yada ... heard it all before.  This year?  No resolutions for me.  How's that for making things easy?  Maybe I should make a resolution to have no resolutions?  I think I could do that one.

As we wrap up 2012, the last few traces of the Christmas season are leaving: the tree came down today and is now all packed up and in storage, as are the holiday decorations (says she with a little smirk on her face 'cause all the ornaments went right back into their boxes, exactly as they came out - and not a single one broken or misplaced) ... the wrapping papers are all stored ... and gifts arrived today from overseas (still one more to come).

I could sit here and type up some long annual letter to fill you in on what we've done this year, but eh, it's a pretty boring, routine kinda list of "stuff".  Seriously.  Nothing all that exciting happened to us this year. Work. School. Commute (sucks). Work. Gym. Yup. B-o-r-i-n-g. LOL

To liven things up around here for the holidays, we got an elf.  No, we haven't lost it or anything - an elf from the Elf on the Shelf children's story. I'd seen elves appearing on Facebook last year and thought, why not?  Sure, DS is 18, but I was getting the elf for me ... for fun.  Lizzy (well, sure, we had to give her a name! Sheesh.) arrived just after Thanksgiving and left Christmas Eve - late, sometime during the night after we were all asleep (of course).  It's been suggested that perhaps we should ask Lizzy to stay for a while - like the whole year - so she could experience other things, like our birthdays, the end of the school year, 4th of July and even next holiday season, when we hope to be visiting with family.  We'll have to see.  I've asked Santa if Lizzy could come back for an extended visit, but I'm sure he's taking a little vacation - after all, he was pretty busy on December 24 and into the early morning hours of the 25th - Santa probably needs a rest. Want to meet Lizzy for yourself?  Here you go:

Well, the end of the year means ... college football "bowl" games - and the Michigan State Spartans are about to play, so I'm signing off.  Happy New Year, everyone.  I hope 2013 brings you happiness and prosperity.
