Is it almost May?

Wowza! I knew I'd been busy, but to not update this blog for ... more than a week?! Ouch! I've been scrapping my little heart out, and have had the opportunity to work with some great kits. In fact, you'll be seeing a lot more pages using Crystal Wilkerson's designs (Crystal's kits can be found at Two Peas in a Bucket) ... I'm on her CT team! Thanks, Crystal for this opportunity. If you'd like to check out Crystal's blog, you can do so by clicking here. Crystal's been doing monthly kits - among other things - for those following the "365" project. Her May kit will hopefully be out next week.

However, warmer weather is also pulling me outside, to my garden. We're also getting prep'd to paint some of the rooms upstairs - thankfully the 90-degree heat that we're having right now will make everything dry that much faster. The balancing act will continue between scrappy time, family time, and the all-important ME time! LOL But, I'll figure something out.

So, with no further a-do, here's what I've been working on:

Busy ... busy ... busy!

Wow, time flies! Been a while since I've updated my blog, so here goes ... Spring break came and went and DS is back at school (thankfully! LOL) ... went to a couple of DC United games (one good game, one was just too much defense ... back 'n' forth ... boring) ... worked a couple of 10+ hour days at work - in a row (ugh!) ... tried to garden, but it's too wet to really do anything - hopefully things will be okay this weekend, where the forecast is in the low 70's.

Been busy "escaping" into scrapbooking as a nice mental release from everything else. Although, I've also had to pace myself so my family doesn't turn around and say, "Who are you?!" LOL So, here's a little eye candy of what I've created lately ... enjoy!

This LO has photos from a few years ago, but I didn't have much to work on as far as Easter goes. I'm falling in love with Crystal's kits at Two Peas in a Bucket - they have such a fun element to them. This was also a "mystery recipe" challenge from Making Memories For You - I had no idea what I would be using on the page - and everyone's will be different AND a scraplift challenge from Two Peas! I love how this came out - and seems others do too ... my layout was chosen to be included in the bi-monthly Two Peas newsletter as an example of using 85% kits from the designers (thanks Mel and the team!).

For something a little different, I decided to do an 8.5 x 11 page for a template challenge at Scrapbooks Etc. The challenge can be found on the SBE blog. It's funny how I never really noticed these boats before - I'd been living near the marina for more than 4 years... and yet, duh! A marina would likely have boats, wouldn't it?!

Credits: Credits: Template SBE Quick Collage 102 (modified); paper - Back 2 School, Shannon Freeman; Dymo tape labels - Office Supply mini kit, Rhonna Farrer ("ME" created from other tags); scalloped edge journaling tag - Label Fun, Kate Teague; word tags - Teen Boy Word Strips, Sande Krieger; tree tag and title font - The 365 Challenge {April} kit, Crystal Wilkerson; journaling font - 2Ps Island Style(all Two Peas in a Bucket); polaroid frame and So Cool bottlecap - Pop Culture (Raspberry Road Designs); stitching - Route101, collab kit HeatherT and ViVa Artistry (Get Digi With It); staples (misc.) ... phew! ROFL

And last, but by no means least, here's some pages that I used with my latest CT assignment from Scrap it Sassy. Denise's Step Back in Time kit just screamed heritage/vintage to me ... so I pulled some pics that my Uncle gave me about my Dad and used those. I think the muted browns and pinks go really well with this style of page, don't you?

Bug Tales

Yep, Bug Tales (by Secret Garden Creations) ... that's the name of a kit I've been working with from Scrap it Sassy. There are some fun elements in this kit - including a snail and a frog! LOL Here's a couple of pages that I did with the kit ... bright colors, and lots of fun :)

Heading Down Route 101

Okay, so I don't really know if there IS a Route 101, or where it might lead to, but that's the title of a collab kit between HeatherT and ViVa Artistry at Get Digi With It - and I've been able to create a few things for you to look at. I had some perfect photos from a vacation to Virginia Beach (let's ignore that they are nearly four years old, okay? LOL) that needed scrapping ... and certain elements in the kit just 'hit the nail on the head'. Mind you, there's a TON of stuff in the kit that I haven't even played with ... yet ... what I've used here is less than half!

NOW I can share!

For anyone reading this that knows me, you'll know how hard it's been for me to keep these creations a secret! LOL I'm really looking forward to hosting some challenges this month at MMFY, and had a great time working with the "Smitten" kit donated by Raspberry Road Designs (thanks Susan)! So, that said, here's a flurry of pink, hearts, love, ...

(PS I Love You wordart from Sande Krieger @ 2Ps)

(yes, this last one is a card!)

... and this last page was my scraplift page - my first challenge. I just love this picture of my parents, standing on the steps of the church, right after they were married. Don't they make a handsome couple?
